Two Quick Questions

1. Which was the better movie (or the lesser of two evils) , and why: Fight Club, or Pulp Fiction?

2. Is there anyone alive who really liked all three Matrix movies? Why or why not?

1) Wow, that is a really tough. I would say it is a tie. If had to pick though, I would give a slight edge to Pulp Fiction; Mostly because I didn't like the ending of Fight Club (the whole blow up credit card companies thing was a little over the top for me).

2) Overall, I liked all three movies. The third one was probably my least favorite, but I'll still watch it if it is on:)

1. I'd have to say Pulp Fiction only because its ultimately a homage to Elmore Leonard, and I think it worked even better than when they made straight copies of his books i.e Jackie Brown, Get Shorty which were only just ok....

2. the Matrix was a great idea but I was left with the opinion that if the real world involved having your bodily juices sucked by weirdo life forms wouldnt you rather be thinking you were shopping? so thanks for nothing Neo...

Also it was let down by the ending, true love and mega fire power it what it takes to save mankind.... thats so American....

Never watched the other 2... See you guys soon?

This is Dizzle, and I agree with both Leigh and Eric with Pulp Fiction. It's just my opinion, but I would've had to argue with anyone who'd said Fight Club.

Leigh, I've never seen the 3rd Matrix and don't want to, but I love your assessment of the 1st one. Eric, there'd have to be NOTHING ELSE on though, right? I mean, even if you only get one station, and it happens to be showing Matrix III, you can always pop in a West Wing DVD, or Arrested Development, or LOTR or something, right? Yeah, Dude, I don't know...

You know I love you JD, but I'm gonna have to back up Eric on the Matrix... I really liked both the first and second movie and the third was still better to me than The Departed (which I found only okay) The whole huge battle scene almost made up for the lame ending.

I'm actually almost even on Fight Club and Pulp Fiction. PF is much funnier and quotable, but FC has better action and a trippy surprise ending.

Pulp Fiction > Fight Club easily. Not even a discussion for me. I like Fight Club but PF is probably the most influential movie of the last 20 years, and it gets better every time I watch it as opposed to FC (and most movies) where the impact sort of diminishes.

To me PF brought back what movies USED to be, movies like "The Big Sleep" where everything (dialogue, characters, whatever) just seems heightened and stylish. A lot (and I mean A LOT) of subsequent movies have tried to ape this but never to the same effect.

I liked all three Matrixes, though society has made me ashamed to say it. I think the stupid Ten Commandments/homo rave scene in the second one completely killed 95% of people's interest in the series, but I swear things pick way up once they leave Zion...
